Effective 11/6/2025

The Foreign Travel Clinic is temporarily closed. We anticipate reopening in February 2026. You may contact Passport Health 812-402-6000, a local pharmacy, or another local health department for travel related vaccines. We appreciate your understanding as we devote our limited resources to high priority disease prevention efforts.

Any appointments that have already been scheduled will be honored.

Foreign Travel Immunization Clinic

The Vanderburgh County Health Department (VCHD) offers vaccinations and education to those who are traveling to a foreign country.  Travelers who are not properly vaccinated are at an increased risk of becoming ill from serious, potentially fatal vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, typhoid, yellow fever, and pertussis (whooping cough).  Travelers may also spread these diseases to others during and after their trip.  Vaccinations and education are provided according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidelines.

We do not provide or write prescriptions for anti-malarial medication or antibiotics. Please contact your primary care provider for these medications.

VCHD is a licensed Yellow Fever vaccination clinic.  Clients receiving yellow fever vaccine are issued an International Certificate of Vaccination to show proof of immunization.
