The MISSION of the Communicable Disease Division of the Vanderburgh County Health Department is to:
Work in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations to assess, investigate, and promote innovative methods of prevention, education, treatment, and surveillance to prevent communicable disease transmission.

Clinic Information:

Communicable Disease programs provide data collection, reporting, investigation, and surveillance of reportable communicable diseases, as well as diagnostic, treatment, and immunization services through specialized clinic programs.  The VCHD tattoo, body piercing, and permanent makeup establishment program is through Environmental Health Services.

Since HIV is spread primarily through sexual practices or by sharing needles, prevention messages on this site may address these topics.  HIV prevention materials funded by CDC (Centers for Disease Control) must be approved by local program review panels.  However, the materials may be considered controversial by some viewers.
