As part of our emergency preparedness program, the Indiana State Department of Health has determined that Vanderburgh County needs 180 rostered, trained RNs, LPNs, Physicians, Dentists, Pharmacists and EMTs to give smallpox vaccine in the event of an exposure.

Smallpox vaccinator certification training may be conducted either at your facility or at the Vanderburgh County Health Department for the purpose of training a member of your staff to vaccinate your employees and clients should the need arise. The Health Department will provide all materials necessary for this learning opportunity and certification will come from the State of Indiana.
